Police in Goderich are receiving funding in a provincial initiative to respond to violent crimes.
Huron-Bruce Progressive Conservative MPP Lisa Thompson announced $100 thousand for Huron OPP in Goderich as part of the Victim Support Grant, and greater “Ontario’s Guns, Gangs and Violence Reduction Strategy.”
The funding, according to a news release, will pay for preventative awareness, community engagement, and collaborative efforts to address the rising incidents of gender-based violence.
The announcement is part of a $4 million program to help support victims and survivors of intimate partner violence/domestic violence, human trafficking, and child exploitation.
