In Penetang, work crews are shoring up walls of buildings on the town’s main street, after knocking down unstable parts of a building that partially collapsed earlier this month.
Officials say it may take a couple of weeks to complete the work and so apartments and businesses in the affected area will remain off limits.
No one was hurt in the collapse, and crews were able to rescue two pets trapped in the rubble.
They also recovered undamaged family urns and returned them to their owners.
