The RCMP Musical Ride is coming to the Bayshore Community Centre in Owen Sound this weekend.
It’s the 150th anniversary tour with stops all over the country.
The 30 minute ride usually includes up to 32 mounted police officers riding their horses in formations and conducting drills set to music. The officers come from all over Canada and the RCMP says each must serve two years before applying to be part of the musical ride.
Camp Presquile Director Scotia Hutton says the event will help raise funds for the YMCA Rotary Camp Presquile kitchen renovation project that is set to get underway this month. Newly implemented provincial regulations mean the kitchen at the camp needs to be improved.
The musical ride is set to go Saturday, Sept. 9 and Sunday, Sept. 10. The shows are at 2 p.m. both days. You can buy tickets through the Owen Sound Attack Box Office.
Camp Presquile is located northwest of Owen Sound.
Hutton says also at the event, will be the local GRACE riding program and Elite Equestrian will be there along with the Global Pet Foods Super Dogs.
“It should be a pretty good show. Lots of entertainment for the family,” says Hutton.
