Grey Bruce Public Health is asking for help to find the owner of a dog involved in a biting incident in Southampton.
Public health says the incident happened on Sept. 1 around 8 p.m. where a boy was bitten by a small dog, which resembled a miniature poodle, at Gerry’s Fast Food at 1 Beach Road.
The dog was less than nine inches tall, was brownish-yellow in colour and had some white and grey fur. The dog was also on a white and brownish-green leash.
Public health adds the dog was with a couple, who had about six other dogs with them at the time of the incident.
Public health staff need to confirm if the dog was not infectious with rabies. By confirming, the victim can avoid receiving the post-exposure rabies treatment.
Anyone with information on this incident is asked to call Grey Bruce Public Health at 519-376-9420.
