A Harriston man has been sentenced to eight years in prison after being found guilty of manslaughter for selling narcotics that were responsible for a death in West Grey four years ago.
Tyler Geiger was handed down the sentence in the Superior Court of Justice in Walkerton earlier in this month. He was convicted in February on one count of manslaughter and one count of trafficking carfentanil.
West Grey Police charged Geiger in April 2019, after being called to a Normanby residence where a 46-year-old man was found dead.
Toxicology reports showed the victim had overdosed from carfentanil. Police charged Geiger, then 34-years-old, with manslaughter and trafficking in relation to the death.
Geiger has just over five years left to serve after his pre-sentence custody is factored in.
