A 28 year old Southampton man faces charges after reportedly breaking the windows at a business in Southampton, and police say it’s not the first time such an incident has occurred this month.
They say on Friday, July 21st, at about 12:35 in the morning they were dispatched to Duffy’s Fish and Chips on High Street
for a report of an unwanted person. Dispatchers said they could hear glass breaking while taking the call.
Police arrived on scene and the suspect fled on foot.
Officers reportedly pursued the suspect through backyards and over fences.
Police say they tried to arrest him and he resisted. They used a taser and the arrest was completed without further issue.
The suspect was taken to hospital for treatment to his arms and hands, because of the broken glass.
A 28-year-old Southampton man has been charged with two counts of mischief, causing a disturbance, trespassing by night and assault with intent to resist arrest.
Police also say back on July 11th, at Port Elgin Main Beach, they were dispatched to a report of a male punching and breaking a window of a building there.
A 28 year old Southampton man was arrested and charged back then too.
