Rainfalls in Huron County have prompted a Flood Watch by conservation officials.
The Ausable Bayfield Conservation Authority says Thursday’s rainfall totalled up to 90 millimetres in some areas of the watershed.
This rainfall was in addition to the 40-55 millimetres in the last week.
According to the ABCA, smaller rivers and feeder streams are approaching bankfull conditions already, resulting in flooding of traditional low-lying flood plain areas.
Water flows are expected to peak Friday and Saturday.
The Flood Watch will remain in effect until Saturday at 9:00 a.m..
