Organizers of the Rotary Huron Shore Run, held in early June say it was a big success.
They say about 800 people took part in the event which saw people walk or run a variety of distances along the shoreline between Southampton and Port Elgin.
Organizers say the atmosphere was “Electric, filled with determination, resilience, and an overwhelming sense of unity.”
The rotary club says it was able to make a significant difference to many organizations in the community,
$50,000 will go to the Saugeen Memorial Hospital Foundation, $2,500 to the Rotary Club of Port Elgin, and the same amount to the rotary club of Saugeen Shores, and also to Southampton Rotary.
The Saugeen Track and Field Club will see $2,000 and the Saugeen Shores Lifesaving Club will get $4,000.
