Northern Bruce Peninsula is approving the purchase of a $380,000 plow truck.
Council approved a recommendation from Public Works Manager Troy Cameron to purchase the 2024 freightliner from Viking-Cives Ltd. during a meeting on June 26.
A report from Cameron says the 2008 International Tandem was slated for replacement in 2020, and over the next five year period three additional trucks are scheduled for replacement.
Viking-Cives has advised municipal staff an identical truck is available for purchase, and is being offered at the same price, with delivery set for the first quarter of 2024.
The cost of the truck will be included in the 2024 capital budget.
