A Hanover teenager has been charged with several criminal offences for allegedly stabbing a man.
Hanover Police say officers were called to the 300 block of 11th Avenue in the southern Grey County town just prior around 11:40 p.m. Wednesday night, for a report of a stabbing.
Officers arrived to find a 30-year-old Hanover man suffering from several stab wounds. Grey County paramedics transported the victim to local hospital where he was stabilized, before being air lifted to a trauma centre.
Police describe the victim’s injuries as serious, not not life-threatening.
The victim and the alleged attacker were apparently known to each other, and police say an argument had ensued before the stabbing occurred.
An 18-year-old Hanover man was identified as the suspect. He was arrested yesterday without incident.
A search of the suspect’s residence by officers located a knife police claim was used in the attack.
The teen was charged with aggravated assault, assault with a weapon and weapons dangerous to public peace.
He was remanded into custody.
