The Ontario government is supporting an investment by Hydrogen Optimized in Owen Sound that’s aimed at supporting the local manufacturing sector.
The province is also chipping in $500,000 through the Regional Development Program’s Southwest Ontario Development Fund.
The funding was announced Monday by Bruce-Grey-Owen Sound MPP Rick Byers.
The company is investing $4.6-million to build its RuggedCell water electrolyzer production capacity.
The investment is going to enable the country to compete in the large-scale green hydrogen market.
Ontario is working to invest more than $100 million through its Regional Development Program between 2019 and 2023 to help advance the manufacturing sector.
