Big Brothers Big Sisters of Grey Bruce (BBBSGB) has raised nearly $37,000 in its annual Bowl For Kids Sake fundraiser, which it says is one for the record books.
The organization says in a release this year’s 43rd annual event saw bowlers, donors and bidders show up for the over 140 children they serve, with 37 bowling teams at three locations in Owen Sound, Port Elgin and Collingwood.
It adds with the funds raised, they also blew past their goal of $35,000.
All the proceeds from the event will assist the organization in continuing to offer its no-cost mentoring programs, including both in-school and community-based to families across Grey, Bruce and Western Simcoe.
“With these funds, BBBS will have the resources to continue to reach more children and youth, creating life-long relationships that empower these young people to reach their full potential,” says BBBSGB.
The highest pledged team taking part in the event raised over $4,300.
“The BBBSGB staff and board thank everyone who was involved this year and who helped make this Bowl For Kids’ Sake event a success! We are so grateful for the commitment and belief our supporters have in investing in the lives of young people in our community,” says BBBSGB.
