South Bruce OPP say two people are facing impaired driving charges following separate collisions.
Police say on April 4, they responded to two collisions, the first occurring at 10:38 a.m. when officers received word of a single vehicle collision at the intersection of Queen Street and Mount Forest Avenue in Kincardine. When police arrived on the scene, they found a stop sign had been knocked over and the driver have been drinking. Police say the driver was arrested.
As a result, OPP say the 50-year-old man from Kincardine was charged with impaired driving and failing to remain. The accused is set to appear in court on June 28.
Later that day at 6:29 p.m., OPP say they received a report of a single vehicle collision along Concession 12 east in Carrick Township. Officers arrived to find the vehicle was at rest in the ditch.
Police add the driver was found to have been drinking and was placed under arrest.
As a result, a 75-year-old Carrick Township man was charged with impaired driving and operating with over 80 milligrams. They are set to appear in court in Walkerton on May 24.
Police say impaired driving charge comes with an immediate 90-day license suspension and a seven-day vehicle impoundment.
