Grey Highlands council is awarding a $1 million tender for the replacement of the Wyville Bridge east of Markdale.
During a meeting on April 5, council received a report from Manager of Infrastructure Alysha Milliner. It recommended awarding the tender to GMP Contracting Ltd.
The report says the bridge replacement, located on 12th Concession A over the Rockey Saugeen River, received a number of bids when the RFP closed March 22.
The approved budget from 2019 was set at around $769,000, receiving an update to $1.1 million as of December 2022.
Construction is set to begin May 29.
