A motion is expected to be brought forward tonight to Kincardine Council that would provide garbage bag tags to families in need.
Councillor Beth Blackwell will table a motion that would move to have 500 bag tags to the Kincardine Food Bank.
The motion is being made because according to the motion, low-income households are being disproportionately affected by the increase in price that was part of this year’s municipal budget.
Garbage bag tags increased in price by $1 each as a part of the 2023 budget.
The cost of the motion for the municipality, if passed, would be $1,750.
