The County of Dufferin is getting set to offer some special waste collection next week.
From March 13th to the 17th, Dufferin Waste will be collecting single-use and rechargeable household batteries to coincide with the time change overnight tonight.
Orange battery bags were distributed to households that receive curbside collection, or you can pick one up through the week at 30 Centre Street or municipal offices.
Residents are encouraged to place household batteries in the bag and set it beside their garbage at the curb.
In 2022 almost 6 800 kilograms or nearly 15,000 pounds of batteries were diverted through the program.
