Hanover police say they have arrested a 24 year old man they say had a replica gun and had broken into a shed in the middle of the night.
They say at 3 in the morning on Saturday, March 4th officers responded to the 800 block of 8th Avenue for a prowler complaint.
Police say they located a 24-year-old male suspect, who they allege had broken into, and was inside a shed on the property.
They say he was arrested and found in possession of a Glock replica handgun along with burglary tools.
The suspect was charged with Break & Enter, Trespass at Night, Possession of Break-in tools, & Possession of Imitation Weapon for a Dangerous Purpose.
Hanover Police Chief Christopher Knoll says on Twitter, “Confronting suspects in this scenario is dangerous at any time, but its magnified when they are armed with a weapon, especially a replica firearm. Thankfully, nobody was injured in this incident that could have ended very tragically.”
