Hanover Police Chief Christopher Knoll says on Twitter, on Sunday, Mar 5th, officers arrested a 44-year-old Wiarton man after responding to a break and enter in progress in the 1,000 block of 7th Avenue.
Knoll says the suspect led officers on a foot pursuit through a wooded area before being cornered and arrested.
According to Knoll, he was currently wanted on numerous charges by Grey Bruce OPP and Hanover police, while facing two new charges of break and enter, possession of stolen property, possession of break-in tools, obstructing justice and two counts of breach of release order.
Knoll says, “Nice work by the responding officers coordinating this containment and chasing this suspect across some very difficult terrain through a heavily wooded area.”
