Hanover Police have ruled out one instance of suspicious activity that caused concern last week while they continue to investigate another.
Police say they have identified the older man who handed out Pot of Gold chocolates to a child last week and determined the intentions were genuine and motivated by Random Acts of Kindness Day.
Police say he had handed out chocolates to people of varying ages for those reasons.
Meanwhile, police are still investigating the suspicious incident from March 2nd, at about 5:30 p.m. which involved reports of an older man with grey hair, grey facial hair and possibly prescription glasses in a black Volkswagen SUV, (possibly a Tiguan), seen taking photos of kids playing in the backyard of a residence in the area of 14th street at 9th Avenue in Hanover.
Reports say the man took photos, circled around the block, stopping a second and third time taking more photos and then leaving the area. Police say the man didn’t communicate with the children.
Anyone with information on this investigation is encouraged to contact the Hanover Police Service at 519.364.2411 or Crime Stoppers at 1-800-222-8477 (TIPS).
