Huron County libraries have received provincial recognition for a program introduced during the pandemic.
The Province of Ontario awarded the libraries the Minister’s Award for Innovation, for the “In Your Backyard” program.
In Your Backyard is a virtual local travel series highlighting several hidden gems across Huron County.
The library also partnered with the County of Huron’s Economic Development department for a giveaway that encouraged people to explore these hidden gems for a chance to win a Huron County weekend get-away.
The Minister’s Award for Innovation recognizes successful new approaches that demonstrate a positive impact in a community and are of continued value to public libraries.
