Owen Sound Police say they’re investigating after several homes in the city had cable and internet lines “intentionally cut.”
Police say homeowners between the 1000-1800 blocks of 3rd Avenue East and 2nd Avenue East woke up yesterday morning to find they had interrupted services. They later realized the lines attached to their homes had been severed.
Owen Sound Police say they were notified and have commenced an investigation. They say about 10 homes had cable lines cut, sometime between 2 a.m. and 6 a.m. early Sunday morning.
“If you have experienced similar circumstances and confirmed tampering/damage with the outside cable lines coming to your home, please contact the Owen Sound Police Service to file a report,” the city’s police department says in a statement. “It is believed there are more victims who are affected and may be unaware of the damage.”
Anyone with information relating to these reported acts of mischief are being asked to contact the investigating officer, Const. Chris Mahy at 519-376-1234 ext. 111 or Crime Stoppers at 1-800-222-8477.
