Orillia OPP are investigating the theft of several catalytic converters, stolen from vehicles that were also damaged at Nelsons Aggregates Quarry.
Police, along with the Forensic Identification Unit were called to the quarry at around 6:30 on Friday morning, to find vehicles, including industrial machinery were tipped over, causing severe damage.
It was also noticed that the catalytic converters from the vehicles were missing.
Catalytic converters contain precious metals which transform hazardous emissions to be less toxic.
Because they contain metals such as platinum, palladium, and rhodium, it makes them attractive to thieves.
Anyone with information is asked to contact the OPP at 1-888-310-1122 or CrimeStoppers at 1-800-222-TIPS.
