Members of the Orillia Detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) are investigating a two-vehicle collision where a pedestrian was struck in the City of Orillia.
On December 29, 2022, at approximately 3:15 p.m., Orillia OPP, along with emergency services, responded to a two-vehicle collision at the intersection of Park Street and Collegiate Drive in Orillia.
An 8-year-old pedestrian, who was crossing at the intersection, was struck as a result of the two-vehicle collision.
The child was transported to a local hospital and is being airlifted by Ornge to a Toronto-area hospital with serious injuries. No other injuries were reported.
OPP Technical Collision Investigators and Reconstructionists are on scene assisting. The intersection of Park Street and Collegiate Drive will remain closed for several hours for the police investigation.
