Grey Bruce OPP say a driver has been charged after an unsafe attempt to pass other vehicles, right in front of an OPP officer.
They say at about 1:15 Monday afternoon, an officer was sitting in front of the Chatsworth OPP detachment observing a vehicle that was identified in a traffic complaint.
According to OPP, the officer saw the vehicle try to pass multiple cars, but due to the road and weather conditions, the driver was unable to safely overtake the vehicles, which resulted in a near head on collision.
A 20-year-old driver from Toronto is charged with careless driving and obstructing their licence plate.
Grey Bruce OPP are reminding everyone to drive according to the road and weather conditions. Snow covered roads require more stopping distance and have reduced traction.
They say a passing manoeuvre is not worth putting the lives of others at risk.
