Health funding — and new medical equipment — has been announced for Huron County.
Huron-Bruce MPP Lisa Thompson announced the Alexandra Marine & General Hospital in Goderich would be receiving a Magnetic Resonance Imaging (MRI) unit.
“This investment from the government will improve access for all residents of Huron County and patients can be diagnosed quicker without needing to travel long distances to receive this diagnostic imaging,” said Jimmy Trieu, President and CEO of the AMGH.
It was also announced MRI units were approved for Wingham and Kincardine.
In addition, Thompson announced a round of healthcare funding through the Ontario Health Infrastructure Renewal Fund, for hospitals across Huron County:
- Alexandra Marine and General Hospital: $133,552
- Clinton Public Hospital: $516,055
- Seaforth Community Hospital: $728,183
- South Huron Hospital: $2,602,808
