A dog was killed in a hit and run incident in Owen Sound.
Owen Sound Police say they received a 911 emergency call to attend a residence in the 800 block on 27th Street East at around 5:15 p.m. Saturday evening, after a family dog was struck by a vehicle in front of their residence.
The dog was transported to an emergency veterinarian and later died from its injuries.
Police say the vehicle involved in the incident left the scene immediately and was last spotted travelling northbound on 9th Avenue East.
Owen Sound Police are seeking assistance in identifying the vehicle and its occupants.
“Police are specifically seeking residential video surveillance or doorbell cameras that may have captured the vehicle before or after this incident,” Owen Sound Police say in a release.
