Owen Sound police say the kindness of one driver to another led to a collision in Owen Sound Wednesday.
Police say, on December 14th just after 3p.m., city police along with Owen Sound firefighters and Grey County paramedics attended the 700 block of 9th Avenue East regarding a two-vehicle collision.
Police say their investigation revealed that a driver had pulled out from a private drive and made a left turn across two lanes of traffic. At the time, the driver of a vehicle which was stopped in the curb lane waved the other driver to proceed with his turn not realizing there was an oncoming vehicle in the left lane.
Police say the collision caused extensive damage to both vehicles and two people were transported to hospital with minor injuries.
Police note, this was the second collision in a 24 hour period where a driver was attempting to be kind and waved a vehicle through on a left turn that resulted in a collision.
Police say they want to discourage this type of action, explaining, “You are not in control of all lanes of traffic.”
