Students in the Huron-Perth Catholic District School Board (HPCDSB) are asking to be prepared for remote learning.
The Canadian Union of Public Employees (CUPE) has called for strike action Monday for its 55 thousand members, following a stoppage in contract talks with the province.
The HPCDSB says Chromebooks have been distributed to students this week, and families should be prepared for several days of remote learning.
Strike action by CUPE earlier this month lasted two days, following provincial legislation mandating a contract on the union.
The strike ended, after a promise from Premier Doug Ford to repeal Bill 28 and continue contract negotiations.
While the HPCDSB will switch to remote learning during CUPE’s strike action, the Avon Maitland District School Board says their classes will not be affected.
