The Nottawasaga OPP’s Community Street Crime Unit has arrested and charged five people in relation to thefts in the areas of New Tecumseth and Essa Township.
At the beginning of this month, OPP officers were investigating a significant increase in the number of thefts from vehicles, which also led to the fraudulent use of credit cards.
On Thursday, the Community Street Crime Unit executed a search warrant on two addresses in the Barrie area with the help of the Caledon OPP, the Emergency Response Team, and the K9 Unit, as well as the Barrie Police.
A 24-year-old man from Tiny Township was arrested and charged with:
– Possession of property obtained by crime under $5000 – Five counts
– Theft under $5000 from a motor vehicle – Four counts
– Possession of a schedule I substance for the purpose of trafficking – cocaine
– Possession of a schedule I substance for the purpose of trafficking – opioid (other than heroin)
– Fraud under $5000 – Four counts
The accused is scheduled to appear before the Ontario Court of Justice in Bradford on December 1, 2022
A 23-year-old man from Barrie was arrested and charged with:
– Possession of an identity document
– Possession of property obtained by crime under $5000 – Four counts
– Theft under $5000 from a motor vehicle – Three counts
– Fraud under $5000 – Three counts
The accused is scheduled to appear before the Ontario Court of Justice in Bradford on December 1, 2022
A 25-year-old man from Barrie was arrested and charged with:
– Theft under $5000 from a motor vehicle – Three counts
– Possession of property obtained by crime under $5000 – Four counts
– Fraud under $5000 – Three counts
The accused is scheduled to appear before the Ontario Court of Justice in Bradford on December 1, 2022
A 48-year-old woman from Barrie was arrested and charged with:
– Possession of property obtained by crime under $5000
The accused is scheduled to appear before the Ontario Court of Justice in Bradford on November 24, 2022
A 43-year-old man from Barrie was arrested and charged with:
– Possession of property obtained by crime under $5000
The accused is scheduled to appear before the Ontario Court of Justice in Bradford on November 24, 2022
