1) Why are you running?
I am running for West Grey Council because I would like to see West Grey move forward and feel that change is needed at the council table to make this happen.
2) Are there any steps municipalities can take to help ease cost of living concerns?
Municipalities can help ease the cost of living by keeping taxes, water rates and other services as low as possible.
3) What are your ideas for economic development in your municipality?
Economic development in our municipality will come in the area of encouraging small business and more stores to open. Keeping the main streets attractive and easing some of the red tape to opening may help.
4) Do you think a municipality has a role to play in the recruitment and retention of physicians and other healthcare workers?
The role the municipality plays in recruitment and retention of physicians and other healthcare workers is to keep community services up to date and making West Grey an attractive place to live. It would help to have cultural and recreational experiences for them and their families to enjoy on their time off work. I know as a healthcare worker myself one of the most stressful things I faced was getting to work on unplowed roads early in the morning and back home at night. Healthcare workers are expected to get to work no matter what weather conditions are. Health care workers and other professionals like to order take-out food for comfort so a variety of eating places would be a good idea.
5) What is your vision for the future of police services in West Grey?
My vision for the future of the West Grey police service is to have a service in a new building that will house police fire and paramedics under one roof.
6) What issue do you believe is a top priority for West Grey to tackle during the next term?
MY top priority for West Grey is to resolve previous issues of the present council, start planning for future needs by priority through West Grey for services and looking at growth figures which can be predicted through past and present years building permits.
