South Georgian Bay OPP’s Marine Unit are reminding boaters about life jackets and personal flotation devices.
The marine unit was on the water between October 5th and 13th, and tracked 54 vessels over that time.
They ended up charging three operators for failing to have sufficient lifejackets aboard their vessels. Eight operators were also educated on various offenses under the Canada Shipping Act.
Focused patrols were also conducted along the Tiny Township shoreline, the Islands of Beckwith and Giants Tomb, and local marinas to ensure the impaired operation and other alcohol-related offenses were kept in check.
