1) Why are you running?
I am running for mayor to be focused on working class and middle class citizens of greyhighlands. I want to raise the percentage of voter participation by providing another option on the ballot that comes from the working class with a desire to represent working class people.
2) Are there any steps municipalities can take to help ease cost of living concerns?
I will be taking on the position of mayor fulltime and dedicating my time to easing costs of living of middle class citizens. I will be looking at taxes, housing development fees and wasteful red tape regulations to start with, while keeping an ear to individuals input for other possible avenues of improvements.
3) What are your ideas for economic development in your municipality?
I have the idea that economic development can occur best with less involvement of municipal government and freeing businesses to communicate their interests to me directly. I will take a common sense approach to request.
4) Do you think the municipality has a role to play in the recruitment and retention of physicians and other healthcare workers?
I think that the municipality can give incentives to attract doctors to this area. I currently don’t have any ideas for retaining healthcare workers but I am sure that if I ask some current healthcare workers, that they will have valuable suggestions.
5) What would you like to see for land development in Grey Highlands?
If you own land and want to develop it responsibly in general you should be able to. If there are large developments that need municipal involvement I will use common sense in my decision and voting process.
6) What would you like to see for community safety and well-being?
I would like to end time and money wasting studies on obvious safety concerns. I will fast track the much needed stop signs, streetlights and crossing guards. While widening road shoulders during scheduled road maintenance for the benefit of mininites, farm equipment and pedestrians. All new bridges will be built with farm clearances in mind.
