Grey Bruce OPP say during a one-day vehicle blitz in Georgian Bluffs, 21 commercial vehicles were inspected and a number of charges were laid.
Police say on Sept. 29, the OPP and the Ministry of Transportation hosted the blitz in the township, where officers were checking for compliance with commercial motor vehicle regulations and safety standards.
As a result, police say they issued two highway traffic act charges, four charges regarding daily and annual inspections, one vehicle maintenance related charge, one commercial vehicle operator’s registration charge, and eight warnings.
Additionally, OPP say officers also removed three commercial motor vehicles from service as a result of major defects found during inspection.
Police say they remain committed to improving road safety, and will continue to work with their road safety partners to achieve this goal.
