Car lovers in Grey Bruce are in for quite the weekend.
The 8th Cobble Beach Concours d’Elegance is set to be held and a variety of events are planned over the next three days.
A 90 kilometre participants’ tour this morning kickstarted the busy weekend. Many of the classic vehicles which will be showcased during Concours d’Elegance hit the road for a spin around the region and will arrive back at Cobble Beach Friday afternoon.
Saturday, old cars and aircraft will be on display at Wiarton Keppel International Airport — an event known as Cars, Planes & Coffee. The inaugural Concours d’Lemons is also being held tomorrow. The playful showcase will begin at 11:30 a.m. in Owen Sound’s River District and feature vehicles some might describe as a bit less prestigious.
There’s also two free automotive seminars at the Roxy Theatre in Owen Sound on Saturday afternoon, but pre-registration is required.
The main car show, the Cobble Beach Concours d’Elegance, is set to be held on Sunday.
More than 115 vehicles will be on display and under judges’ scrutiny for the Best in Show award. The winning classic car will be announced in an awards ceremony Sunday afternoon.
