There’s a municipal all candidates meeting planned in Georgian Bluffs in a few weeks.
The Island View Drive and Area Ratepayers Association plans to host the event for voters in the township on Tuesday, Sept. 27 at 7 p.m. in the Kemble-Sarawak United Church.
Three people are vying to be the next mayor of Georgian Bluffs. They are Dwight Burley (incumbent), current deputy mayor Sue Carleton and Scott Catto.
Eight people are on the ballot for the township’s five council seats. The deputy mayor’s job for the next four years has already been acclaimed, as Grant Pringle was the only candidate to file for the position.
The ratepayers association says the Sept. 27 all candidates meeting will give voters an opportunity to become informed on local issues. It will also allow candidates to share their viewpoints on how they see the township moving forward over the next four years.
Municipal and school board elections in Ontario are being held on Oct. 24.
