Provincial police have charged a 25- year-old London man in connection with an incident over the weekend in which a couple of OPP cruisers were damaged in Wasaga Beach. They’re working on finding a second suspect.
The cruisers with officers and a police dog inside, had their windows smashed when a couple of people jumped on the vehicles.
No one was injured.
The suspect faces charges including assaulting police, causing a disturbance and participating in a riot.
He’s also charged with forcible entry, and theft.
This all happened during what officials call an “unsanctioned” car rally.
Video posted on social media shows incidents of stunt driving and crowds of people surrounding a damaged police cruiser which eventually withdraws from the area.
