A fire Monday evening at the Beaver Creek Institution in Gravenhurst was put out by the building’s sprinkler system.
Gravenhurst fire crews responded to the medium security area of the correctional facility, but the flames were out on arrival.
No injuries were reported and there’s no word yet on what caused the fire.
Crews are currently at Beaver Creek Institution in the medium security zone for a structure fire. Initial investigation by crews has determined that the fire was extinguished by the building sprinkler system prior to arrival which stopped fire spread.
