Donald Turner of Collingwood is celebrating after winning an ONTARIO 49 top prize worth $2 million.
He won it in the June 11th, 2022 draw.
Retired from the automotive industry, he says he is a regular lottery player and chooses what games to play based on which ones have large jackpots and bonus draws.
“I was at home when I checked my tickets using the OLG App,” he explained, while at the OLG Prize Centre to pick up his winnings. “I didn’t believe the prize amount – I kept counting the zeroes, but my brain kept telling me it was $2,000,” he said.
The self-proclaimed car enthusiast said it’s an unbelievable feeling. “I was surprised at first – then shocked when I saw the $2 million. It feels good!”
He plans to enjoy his retirement with travel.
“I will enjoy a balanced life, while checking some things off my bucket list. I’ve always wanted to go to the Calgary Stampede,” Donald concluded.
The winning ticket was purchased at Canadian Tire Gas Bar on Balsam Street in Collingwood.
