The Ministry of Municipal Affairs & Housing is presenting a free Candidate & Third-Party Information Session on Tuesday, July 12, 2022, at 6:00 PM in the Wasaga Beach Council Chambers at 30 Lewis Street.
The Workshop is an excellent resource for registered or potential candidates, or anyone interested in learning more about how municipal elections and local government works. It will give you an understanding of Council’s roles and responsibilities and provide an overview of the municipal election process.
Workshop topics will include:
•An overview of the Municipal Elections Act
•Campaign rules & municipal election campaign finances
•Third party advertising rules
•Key dates
•An outline of the various roles and responsibilities including elected officials and municipal staff
