The Saugeen Memorial Hospital Foundation is receiving more donations in an effort to bring a new CT scanner to town.
The foundation says over the Canada Day long weekend, the Bring Tom to Town CT Scanner campaign received a $20,000 donation from Duncan and Lesley Hawthorne and a $100,000 donation from an anonymous supporter with ties to the area.
In addition, the foundation was also able to raise by campaigning throughout the weekend, a donation of $150,000 from the FDC Foundation.
The foundation says these donations bring the overall fundraising total for the $3 million campaign, to just under $2.7 million.
Foundation Executive Director Tracy Murray stated in a release, “with only $300,000 remaining to reach the $3 million goal, the Saugeen Memorial Hospital Foundation wishes to thank every person, business, and service club or organization that has so generously given to support this community project so far. Without the support of the community, this essential life saving project would not be possible.”
Those who are interested in helping the campaign reach the finish line, can donate, volunteer at foundation events like the Gran Fondo Lake Huron, and share the foundation’s social media posts to spread the word.
