The province is continuing to lift masking requirements.
Chief Medical Officer of Health, Dr. Kieran Moore says that with high vaccination rates and the COVID-19 situation continuing to improve in Ontario, previous requirements such as wearing a mask on public transit will be lifted as of midnight on June 11th.
Masks will still be required in long-term care and retirement homes, and are still recommended in places such as shelters and group homes.
The province says that masks should still be worn in hospitals and other health care settings as well.
Although the Ministry of Health is no longer requiring masks in some places, individual organizations can still have their own requirements in place.
The ministry also says that Ontarians should still wear masks if they are at a higher individual risk, recovering from COVID-19, or have been in close contact with someone with the virus.
