Jacob Hoggard has been found guilty of sexual assaulting an Ottawa woman, but has been acquitted of sexually assaulting a 16-year-old fan.
The former frontman of the Canadian rock band Hedley was also acquitted by Toronto jury late yesterday of one count of sexual interference, which stemmed from an allegation involving the younger complainant when she was only 15.
The 37 year old singer, who rose to fame after becoming a contestant on season 2 of Canadian idol, pleaded not guilty to all three charges.
A conviction for sexual assault carries a maximum prison sentence of 14 years.
The musician has also been charged with a third count of sexual assault causing bodily harm related to a June 2016 incident involving a woman in Kirkland Lake.
Hoggard is now married with a young son and is reportedly working as a carpenter.
