June is Seniors Month in Ontario, a time to recognize older adults in our community and the significant contributions they have made and continue to make.
In keeping with the 2022 theme for Seniors Month Stay Active, Connected and Safe, the Collingwood Public Library Seniors Age-Friendly Advisory Committee has launched a quarterly Age-Friendly Newsletter.
“We learned from our Age-Friendly Community survey that older residents in the community were looking for different forms of communication to stay informed about what was going on in Collingwood,” said Lori Crossan, Coordinator, Adult & Senior Programs.
With the help of Age-Friendly Committee volunteers the newsletter will capture local social, cultural, learning, and recreational programs and events taking place each season. The newsletter will be released in different formats including a digital version available on the Collingwood Public library website at www.collingwoodpubliclibrary.com and print version that will be distributed across Town facilities and shared with community organizations.
The Collingwood Public Library Age-Friendly Committee is a volunteer group that meets quarterly with the aim of providing insight and advice about library services and programmes and to continue to build an age-friendly Collingwood.
