The community oiled their bike chains and pulled on their hiking shoes in support of Hospice Georgian Triangle.
After two years, the Hike & Bike was held in person on Sunday, beginning at the Collingwood Curling Club and raising a record-breaking $176,000. That is the most raised in the entire 11 year history of the event!
There were more than 350 participants for the event who had the option of hiking or biking 6km, or biking 20km through the Collingwood trail system and the shores of Georgian Bay.
“This year’s Hike & Bike was an incredible example of the generosity of our community,” said Dr. Michael Shape, Hospice Georgian Triangle Board Chair and event committee Chair. “We are very grateful to the many supporters of hospice palliative care.”
Officials say the pandemic continues to challenge our community in extraordinary ways, but throughout it, Hospice Georgian Triangle continues to support the needs of individuals and families dealing with life-limiting illness, and those that are grieving and bereaved.
The fundraising site (found by clicking here) will remain open to collect those last few donations until end of day Friday June 4th.
Next year’s event will be held on Sunday, May 28, 2023.
