The province’s Special Investigations Unit (SIU) is investigating the death of a 58-year-old man in the Archipelago.
So far, the investigation has determined that at noon yesterday, the man called the police and informed them he intended to harm himself.
As a result of speaking with the man’s family, OPP officers made their way to a cottage on Shawanaga Landing.
While on the scene, officers heard the sound of a gunshot coming from near the water.
Officers then located the man, deceased.
The SIU reports that three investigators have been assigned to the case.
