The leaders of two of Ontario’s four major political parties have tested positive for COVID-19, just weeks ahead of the election.
Both NDP leader Andrea Horwath and Green party leader Mike Schreiner have announced they tested positive for the virus in the past 24 hours.
Both are isolating and say they will continue to campaign remotely.
The pair recently participated in two primetime TV debates, along with PC’s Doug Ford and the Liberals Steven Del Duca.
Election day is June 2nd.
Like many others in this pandemic, this morning I tested positive for COVID-19. We’re doing our best to keep everyone safe. I was looking forward to seeing folks in Northern Ontario. We’ll have to make adjustments but I’ll keep connecting with people however I can safely. #ONpoli

After close contact with a staff member, I tested positive for Covid 19 via rapid test this evening.
I'm fully vaccinated and am feeling fine. As public health advises, I will self-isolate for a few days and will continue campaigning remotely from home.
