The SIU has cleared Barrie police of any wrongdoing in the case of a break-in suspect who ended up in the hospital from a drug overdose.
On April 6th police responding to a drug store break in on Essa Road, came across a man in the basement of the business.
After he was arrested, the suspect admitted he’d ingested sedatives.
He was taken to hospital where he was diagnosed with a drug overdose.
The SIU says there was nothing the officers did, or did not do, that contributed to the man’s condition and the file has been closed.
