The Owen Sound Baysox have found the win column.
The Baysox played three games this past weekend and managed their first win in the 2022 North Dufferin Baseball League with a 5-3 win over the Bolton Brewers as part of a doubleheader Saturday.
The Baysox fell in the second game against the powerful Brewers offence.
Sunday brought another tough game against the Lisle Astros, where the Baysox fell behind late in the game and couldn’t claw their way back, ultimately losing 9-4 despite a strong pitching performance form Wayland Wilson.
Offensively over the weekend, Jesse Barlte racked up four hits including his second home run of the season. Bailey Durocher notched his first long ball of the season, while Greg Slater had five hits over the three games.
Owen Sound is now 1 and 4 in the early going of the season.
The next scheduled game for the Baysox is Wednesday May 25 at 8 p.m. at Tom Williams Park. This will be the Baysox home opener. They take on Mansfield.
