It was a good night for Owen Sound’s Junior B and Senior B lacrosse teams.
Jordan Caskenette had a hat trick as the Bug Juice North Stars held on to defeat the Clearview Crushers 11-9 Friday night in Ontario Series Lacrosse action at the Creemore & District Recreation Centre, picking up their first win of the season.
Jake McNabb and Zach Tomkinson each added a pair of goals for Owen Sound, while Wyatt Barfoot, Mike Fieghan, Zack Thompson and Hayden Coulter added solos.
Chris Atwood paced Cleaview’s offence, potting four goals.
Clearview ran into penalty trouble all night and Owen Sound capitalized, finishing 4 for 10 on the man advantage.
Owen Sound is now 1-1 on the season. Sunday, they play on the road against Oakville. That game is underway at 7 p.m. and will be carried live on 560 CFOS with Leon’s and McArthur Tire North Stars Radio.
Meanwhile, at the Harry Lumley Bayshore Community Centre the Junior B North Stars smacked the London Blue Devils 19-7 in Ontario Junior B Lacrosse League action.
Owen Sound is now 3-2 on the season, while London remains winless.
Saturday night, the North Stars host Windsor (3-0) at 7 p.m. at the Bayshore.
