A 46-year-old Barrie man faces threat and mischief charges after an altercation with OPP and hotel staff in Midland.
It happened at a King Street hotel last night. Police were called about an unwanted person causing mischief and uttering threats.
They found the man on the property having verbal altercations with the hotel staff. They say he also displayed assaultive behavior towards officers and their vehicles.
He was subdued after causing extensive damage to one of the police vehicles and a hotel room and taken to the detachment for further investigation.
Before leaving there, police say the accused again entered into a verbal interaction with officers resulting in further charges.
The accused faces the following charges:
- Mischief – renders property dangerous, useless, inoperative or ineffective
- Mischief – destroys or damages property
- Causing a Disturbance
- Resist Peace Officer
- Uttering Threats – Cause death or Bodily Harm (three counts)
The accused remains in custody and is being held for a bail hearing.
